CORPUS Christi School virtually defended the secondary’s overall crown after overtaking Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS) in second day’s medal counting of the recent 21st Milo Little Olympics Mindanao Leg in Cagayan de Oro.
MOGCHS led on Tuesday’s partial and official results with 102 points in the point-system medal count, while Corpus Christi narrowly trailed by three at 99.
But with 92 percent tabulation of all events registered as of 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Corpus Knights finally overtakes MOGCHS with a rousing leap for first place.
The CCS Knights pulled additional crucial points from arnis girls, gymnastics and table tennis girls that combined for 45 points.
MOGCHS went cold with only three points to earn in the second day of the ongoing medal count.
Iligan City National High School trailed at third place with 88.3 as they added 16.3 points from its arnis team.
Xavier University is at fourth with 42 points, while Lanao del Norte National Comprehensive High School followed at fifth with 40.
Karatedo is the only sport event which has not yet included in the medal count.
But even with its inclusion, Corpus is already on top of the situation with its commanding lead in the count.
Meanwhile, Milolympics officials did not release yet the updated overall results in the elementary division.
Russel Galgao, Mindanao leg official tabulator, begged to the public as they are rechecking everything from the beginning in the elementary division.
She said they are cautious since the top two schools in their updated results differ by just a hairline.
“Amo pa gisusi og ayo kay dili kami gusto masayop pag-pronounce sa elementary champion especially ligas ra (We are checking it well because we don’t want to make a mistake in pronouncing the elementary champion, especially since there’s just a small difference),” said Galgao.
