THE wake of the late Mandaue City Councilor Demetrio “Tatay Jun” Cortes Jr. will be transferred to the Session Hall of Mandaue City Hall next week Friday, January 12.
In his memorandum, Vice Mayor Carlo Fortuna, who currently serves as acting mayor, said that Cortes’ remains will be brought to the City Hall at 4 p.m.
A mass will be held at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a necrological service.
Personnel of the different department will have different schedules for the vigil.
Cortes will be laid to rest at the Mandaue Catholic Cemetery on January 13.
Cortes died in a private hospital due to a chronic kidney disease last December 28.
He is the first councilor of Mandaue and elder brother of Rep. Jonas Cortes (Cebu, 6th district). (FMG/VoxPop Cebu)
