Cow, sheep duo slow down Davao City traffic

COMMUTERS, motorists, and bystanders along J.P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City, Monday afternoon had the laugh of their lives as a cow and sheep decided to go strolling right along the very busy avenue before turning toward Victoria Plaza Mall.

A video of the mammalian duo was uploaded on Facebook by one Tweety Lagmay, who related that she was driving to a meeting Monday afternoon when they chanced on the duo, right in the middle of the road. From one of her three videos, it shows that her car was right behind the two as they sashayed along the main thoroughfare before they turned right to Victoria Plaza.

A check with the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) showed that they have not found the duo yet and that their operatives are still trying to track down where the two went.

Some of those who commented on the video said they often see the two inside the Garden Park Village, a subdivision along the DMSF Drive now named Dr. Gahol Drive. But no one knows who owns the livestock.

Incidentally, Davao City has an ordinance enacted over a decade ago prohibiting the foray of livestock on public roads.

VoxPop could not retrieve the ordinance as of Tuesday afternoon. (SAE)
