Datu Bago Awards nomination is on

THE Datu Bago Awardees Organization, Inc. urged anew the various eligible organizations and individuals in Davao City to submit their nomination for the 2017 awardee who has exemplified outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Davao City in the 48th Araw ng Dabaw.

Museo Dabawenyo executive director Maria Julieta Torres said during the Kapehan sa Dabaw Monday at SM City Ecoland, they have not received any nomination yet since they opened the search.

Torres said that the search bestows honor upon an individual who has contributed to the development of the Davao City with exemplary competence, dedication, who best serves as a model of excellence and as an inspiration to the residents of Davao.

The search undertaken annually by the Datu Bago Awardees in partnership with the City Government through the Office of the City Mayor and is conferred within the week of the Araw ng Dabaw celebration.

Torres said this is open to any person regardless of nationality, living or deceased, and born in Davao City or have been residents for at least ten years. For a living nominee, he or she must accept the nomination.

Previous nominees may be re-nominated but Datu Bago Awardees are no longer qualified.

The re-nominated must submit an update of her/his accomplishments together with a copy of previous documents.

However, for those re-nominated after three years, they should to submit five copies of their previous documents.

Torres said that only a person of integrity who is residing in Davao City or an organization currently operating for ten years in Davao City are qualified to nominate.

The criteria for evaluation include contributions to the growth and development of the Davao City and exemplary services rendered to the community in any field or endeavor.

Torres said the search committee will evaluate the nominee based on the work-related services rendered to the community in any field or endeavor, work-related accomplishments meriting national and/or international recognition and placing Davao City in the map, must be law-abiding, of good moral character and has a good reputation in the community.

The requirements to submit are the duly accomplished official nomination form, biographical data of the nominee, six pieces recent identical 2x2 size photo, and supporting documents in six sets.

These nominees should be submitted to her at Museo Dabawenyo, A. Pichon Sr. Street Davao City on or before November 29 at 5 p.m.
