TWO Alfa Dancesport Team Davao, Inc. bets bagged silver medals in the recently-concluded World Dancesport Federation (WDSF) Cebu Open 2016 Standard and Latin and the 9th Dancesport sa Sugbu at the the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
Rico Antonio Poliquit and Leian Sumulong fell shy of the golds but salvaged runner-up finishes.
Poliquit, a student from Buhangin Central Elementary School (BCES), placed second in the three dance Latin-American discipline event while Stella Maris Academy (SMAD) student Sumulong clinched her silver in the five-dance Latin juvenile event.

Stefanie Jardinel of the University of the Immaculate Concepcion pocketed a bronze medal in the three-dance modern standard even as Aaron James Morales of Ateneo de Davao University finished fifth place in the five-dance modern standard event.
Clint Laguidao of Davao City National High School placed fifth as well in the five dance modern standard event and Paula Naquila of Holy Cross College of Agdao placed fifth in the five dance modern standard event.
Arellano said they will host the First Dancesport open competition that expects teams from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao on September 24.
"We were told that the RP team of dancesport is coming to Davao to compete," Arellano said, adding the presence of the national team will raise the level of competition. (ABM)
