THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Davao and City Engineering's Office (CEO) have been invited to the next regular session of the City Council Tuesday, October 11, to discuss the road repairs in Davao City.
City Councilor Jesus Melchor Quitain Jr. urged the Council to invite the DPWH-Davao and CEO to explain the road repairs, which have been left unfinished for several months now and noted that people seldom see anyone working on the road repairs.
The roads under repair were in Bankerohan, SM Lanang, Quirino Avenue, San Rafael, Mabini Street, El Rio, Matina and Bacaca, among the others.
"[Just like] a road construction near McDonalds in Bankerohan, it has been ongoing for several months yet we do not see people working [there] even in the evening," Quitain said.
Quitain added there are supposed to be one or two persons working in a road repair in Bankerohan as he also showed photos of unfinished road constructions.
"Christmas season is already fast approaching and if these roads are not finished it would worsen the traffic situation in the city," Quitain said.
Quitain said by inviting the DPWH-Davao and CEO, Dabawenyos will be given update on the road repairs.
