DAVAO City Councilor Mary Joselle Villafuerte is pushing for a stronger regulation among motorcycle drivers and riders.
“I want to have this training as a requirement for anybody buying motorcycle because we all know that anyone can already have a motorcycle with just a P1,500 or lower down payment but doesn’t have a driver’s license,” Villafuerte said in a media forum Tuesday, April 18.
She also said some minors are driving motorcycle without wearing helmet.
Villafuerte said motorcycle dealers are willing to help the City Government in this issue and they want to make this motorcycle training course sustainable.
She said she has yet to meet with the newly appointed City Transportation and Traffic Management Head Dionesio Abude to discuss the program on training for motorcycle drivers. (Everly Gallo Sullano, NDDU Intern)
