Davao City fire hits 6 houses

AN HOUR-LONG fire engulfed six houses on Tuesday morning, August 22, in Bulusan Road Central Park Subdivision, Bangkal, Davao City.

Bureau of Fire Protection Davao City Fire and Arson Investigator Senior Fire Officer 4 Ramil Gillado said in an interview on Tuesday that the fire initially erupted and began to raze houses around 8:33 a.m.

Based on their findings, a total of four houses were razed to the ground while two were partially burned.

The fire was placed under control by the firefighter at about 9:20 a.m.

Gillado added that based on their estimation, around P400,000 worth of properties were damaged.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined by the fire investigators as the probe is still ongoing but initially, they said the fire started at the house of one Rey Butaya.

There was no reported injured or casualty during incident.

Gillado said that this is the 211th fire incident this year from January to August with electrical failure as the top major causes of the incidents.
