Davao employment office moves to new location

WITH the new location of the Davao City Public Employment and Service Office (Peso), officials are optimistic that it would hasten the delivery of their services to the public.

Peso manager Philip Midea said that last Friday, their office was transferred within the premises of the Davao City Recreational Center, at the ground floor of Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office.

Peso used to occupy a room at the fourth floor of the City Hall Building along San Pedro Street.

"Quite better kasi it is much bigger than the previous one," Midea said.

Midea said that applicants were having difficulty going up the last floor of the building before and their new location is more convenient for their clients.

Midea believes they would realize their plans and objectives, adding that they have their usual programs such as job creation where applicants can seek for employment.

"Bago namin sila bigyan ng employment, bago ma interview at bigyan ng referral letter, they have to undergo Pre-Employment Seminar for Local Applicants (Pesla), which is a pre-requisite," Midea said.

Midea said during the Pesla seminar that applicants will be taught to make a resume, how to face an interviewer and the do’s and dont’s during application.

The next seminar is slated October 28 and they will also hold a mini job fair on the same day.

"Advise ko sa mga job seekers, they have to finish college kasi even college graduates are having a difficulty in finding a job," Midea ended.
