THE Davao Legionnaires avenged its loss to Butuan Lumberjacks who beat them four years ago in their face off.

The Davao Legionnaires, named as Davao Southern Spikes then, scored a 48-6 victory over the Butuan Lumberjack formerly Butuan Lawins in the Clash in the South, a promotional A7FL style American Football game, last Saturday, November 11, at the Caraga State University open field.

Davao Legionnaires team captain and acting head coach Paul Oliver Reyes said the promotional match is a test on who is the best American Football team in Mindanao.

Reyes formed part of the 42-member Davao Legionnaires that was reinforced by former United States player John Paul Moreno and veterans Joffrey Escoral and Jose Marie Sedayao.

Coach Jay Jocabinho is currently in Europe.

The team plans to tour Mindanao to promote the sport.
