THE Davao City Transportation and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) has yet to release a traffic re-routing scheme for the All Saints' and All Souls' Day slated on November 1 and 2.
Retired Superintendent Rhodelio Poliquit, head of the CTTMO, said the office is finalizing the plans to control the flow of traffic in different cemeteries in Davao City.
"We cannot just conduct re-routing. Kung kaya pa naman hindi magre-route, we will not re-route the vehicles and/or public utility jeepneys (PUJ) to other streets," Poliquit said in an interview.
Poliquit said they also prepared plan B in case traffic is congested along Davao Memorial, Wireless Cemetery, Buhangin Cemetery and Chinese Cemetery.
He also said that there will be 350 traffic personnel to be deployed on All Souls' Day and All Saints' Day to manage and ensure a smooth flow of traffic on major thoroughfares in Davao City.
Poliquit said congestion of roads is expected from October 31, Monday, to November 2, Wednesday, with thousands of people going to the cemeteries.
