VISITORS and official delegates of Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet 2018 are not exempted from observing Davao City's laws, an official said.
Davao City Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) officer-in-charge Michael "Mikey" Denton Aportadera, during the I-Speak media forum on Thursday at the City Hall conference room, reminded visitors to follow city's ordinances.
"They have to be subjected to the law, kung ano ang penalties ng city they have to follow it," he said.
Aportadera said on Thursday that Davao City Transportation and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) leaflets on jaywalking ordinance is ready for distribution.
"On Sunday delegates will be given a kit, a bag wherein all the necessary information will be there but before that we have already talked with their sports coordinators, reminding them of the ordinances that we have. They are already cascading it to their athletes," he said.
He said on Wednesday night, simultaneous welcome dinners were held in 15 biletting areas of the official delegates.
"Part of the program was to inform everybody on the dos and dont's within the city," he said.
DepEd-Davao spokesperson Jenielito Atillo, in the same forum, said DepEd officials were reminded to follow anti-jaywalking and anti-smoking ordinance, and other ordinances.
Atillo said that DepEd provided house rules that include curfew, protection of billeting quarters, and guidelines imposed on visiting parents.
The Davraa meet is set February 18 to 23, 2018.
