FROM fourth last year, Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) secondary girls softball team eyes to improve its overall ranking in the ongoing Palarong Pambansa 2017 softball competition at the Camp General Leadro Fullon, San Fernando, San Jose, Antique.
Coach Willie Bayocboc, in a phone interview with VoxPop Davao on Monday,
said: "Target namo lang gayud is mosaka ang rank this year, bisan third basta masulod sa top three para makamedal mi. Pero mas nindot kung gold medal gyud (We aim even for the third spot so we can win a medal but winning the gold is still best)."
The team was still playing Western Visayas as of Monday.
Bayocboc said five Western Visayas players have already played in the World Series.
"Pero hinay daw ilang pitcher, so kaya ra pod namo, paningkamotan (But their pitcher is said to be weak so we are confident that we can do this, we'll do our best)," Bayocboc said.
The team will collide against new Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) today.
They will also play against Zamboanga and Mimaropa in the eliminations.
