DAVAO City Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang is acting mayor for three days.
Dayanghirang on Saturday, July 22, told reporters that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio assigned him while the mayor will go to Manila.
"I think so far the protocol for the security and administrative matters are in place, so I am just here to trying to oversee and report to the mayor whenever necessary," Dayanghirang said.
He added that he will sit as an acting mayor from July 24 to 26.
Dayanghirang said he will ensure that the City Council will tackle on Tuesday, July 25, two important items under his committee which are the proposed amendments to the 2005 Revenue Code of the City Government and the proposed ordinance approving the Schedule of Market Values of all lands and Base Unit Construction Cost as basis in the 2018 General Revision of Real Property Assessments in Davao City.
Dayanghirang said that he will advise Majority Floor leader Bernard Al-ag to ensure that the item tackled without him as chair, and without Davao City Councilor Diosdado Mahipus as vice-chair.
"It is possible because any member of the council can start discussing it, to be sponsored by the vice chairman or the member of the committee. I will tell councilor Al-ag to proceed with the presentation [of the item] because Davao City Councilor Victorio Advincula was present in most of these committee hearings," he said.
He added that he can be invited anytime if the council would like to be enlightened on the ordinance. (KVC)
