SENATOR Leila de Lima tagged President Rodrigo Duterte and Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in the recent pronouncement of the House minority of a possible drug charges over her alleged involvement in the National Bilibid Prison (NBP) drug trade.
In a press conference, de Lima said she is not anymore surprised that these people were determined to pin her down.
Clearly, de Lima said, it is all about vendetta because she instigated the extrajudicial killings investigation in the Senate.
On the part of Arroyo, de Lima described the move as another vendetta because of her participation in gathering evidences against the former President and her husband, Jose Miguel Arroyo.
"The powerful once na natapakan ko po nung ginagawa ko yung trabaho ko as Secretary of Justice. At alam niyo naman yung mga high profile cases na hinandle ko and because of that they are blaming me," De Lima said.
De Lima said she will be filing a case against Duterte, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre for spreading malicious lies against her.
"Even the President is now saying na I will suffer the same fate of former President GMA (Arroyo). In other words, I would be locked up in jail and rot in jail. Those are the exact words of President Duterte, dahil nga magkakampi na sila ngayon. May mga political alliance sila with the GMA forces," De Lima revealed.
Minority Leader Representative Danilo Suarez recommended the immediate filing of criminal case against de Lima, insisting that the senator must be held accountable for the alleged proliferation of illegal drugs inside the penitentiary during her time as then-Justice Secretary. (Sunnex)
