DEFENSE secretary Delfin Lorenzana dispelled alleged circulation of fake Arrest Order 3 that contained the list of new terrorist members, supporters and couriers, in the wake of martial law and ongoing Marawi City crisis, saying that they have not released such.
Lorenzana, in a statement issued Friday, July 7, said that his office received reports that there was an Arrest Order 3 that is currently being circulated in different communication platforms.
"In my capacity as martial law administrator, I have not issued any Arrest Order 3, thus, any copy of the document being circulated is fake," Lorenzana said.
There were only two arrest orders that were so far released, thus, he appealed for the full cooperation of the public and advised them to ignore the document to prevent the spread of false information.
"I call on everyone not to share this fake news to avoid confusion, and not to jeopardize our current operations," he said.
"Any announcement relating to martial law will be disseminated officially," Lorenzana added.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police and National Bureau of Investigation were directed to "arrest, take into custody and conduct/continue investigation" on the suspects for “violation of Article 134 (Rebellion) of the Revised Penal Code or any crime related thereto."
The names listed under the order can be arrested without warrant of arrest since the writ of habeas corpus was suspended under the declaration of martial law.
It was earlier reported that government will come up with another arrest order for additional list of terrorist members and supporters for the crime of rebellion according to martial law spokesperson in Eastern Mindanao Command Brigadier General Gilbert Gapay since the new personalities being tagged by arrested members of the terrorist groups are their cohorts.
"We will come up with another list because base narin sa mga documents na nare-recover natin sa Marawi. We have been discovering some additional personalities which are not included in the initial list," Gapay said.
But, no specific date was yet scheduled when the new list will be released.
