DENR People's Day slated September 26

AT LEAST 100 participants from different provinces and cities in Davao Region are set to join the People's Day activity dubbed as "Bringing DENR's Services Closer to the People" on September 26 .

The activity aims to intensify the participants' efforts in reaching out to the public and address environmental issues.

Spearheaded by the regional office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Regional Public Affairs Office (RPAO) chief Jayvee Agas said the launching is a whole-day activity to be held at DENR Regional Office in Lanang, Davao City.

Under the new leadership of Secretary Regina Paz Lopez, DENR aims to develop and increase its efforts in terms of extending its various services to the people.

"With such aim, the conduct of 'People's Day' event is seen as an effective strategy not only to build the Department's integrity but also in soliciting the trust and confidence of the civil society/stakeholders as they are recognized as DENR's partners in environmental protection and conservation," Agas said.

During the event, DENR-Davao officials will receive and process land applications and other permits. They will also answer queries from people regarding environmental issues and concerns.

DENR will also conduct Information, Education, Communication Campaigns on DENR's Policies, Rules and Regulations and the implementation of Programs and Projects.

With this activity, DENR officials are trained to be more results-oriented and responsive to people's needs.
