BACOLOD City Schools Division Superintendent Cynthia Demavivas said Monday that she recommended a disciplinary action against the Grade 3 teacher of Rizal Elementary School who was accused of child abuse.
Demavivas said her recommendation was submitted to Regional Director Gilbert Sadsad of the Department of Education-Negros Island Region (DepEd-NIR).
On February 6, the teacher ordered her pupils to beat their four classmates, including the nine-year-old niece of a complainant, because they were absent on February 3.
Demavivas said the teacher was already transferred to the City Schools Advising Office while the nine-year-old victim was transferred to another section.
She added that they are still awaiting the decision of the DepEd.
Aside from the Grade 3 teacher, Demavivas said they also received child abuse complaint from an elementary school in Barangay Estefania. (MAP)
