A TOTAL of 300 indigent families have benefited on Tuesday, May 16, from the outreach mission of the “Dia del Alcalde (Mayor’s Day)” team in Zamboanga City.
The beneficiaries are from the village of Talabaan, according to City Health Officer Rodelin Agbulos.
The outreach mission is in support to the thrust on security, health and education (SHE) of Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar.
Known as the free service caravan, Agbulos said the Dia del Alcalde caravan included medical and dental services, civil registry, veterinary, agricultural demonstrations, free haircut for young boys and adults, as well as free eye consultation and eye glasses.
The free haircut is courtesy of the military’s Task Force Zamboanga while the free eye consultation and eye glasses of a private company.
The activity, spearheaded personally by Salazar also helped facilitate membership to Social Security System (SSS) as well as the distribution of Philhealth cards.
The mayor and her team also consulted with village officials related to projects and programs implemented in the area. (Bong Garcia/VoxPop Philippines)
