DIBL All-Star Game on Sunday

WHILE the remaining eight teams gets ready for the Davao Inter-BPO League (DIBL) playoffs set on June 25, an All-Star game and a shooting contest is set on Sunday at the Montaña Recreation and Fitness Center, Incorporated along Dacudao Avenue in Agdao, Davao City.

DIBL commissioner Mark de Guzman, who was joined by co-commissioner L.A. Namuag, in Thursday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum held at The Annex events center of SM City Davao, said they're already done with the elimination round and all are set for the playoffs.

"The All-Star game will be the usual one wherein we will select the best players in each bracket and let them play together against the opposite," said de Guzman who added that the three-point Shooting Stars will be a fund-raiser that will benefit Callbox player Patrick Lapus who suffered from a knee ACL tear.

De Guzman, however, bared that the eight teams who will advance to the playoffs include Teleperformance, VXI Robinsons, Iqor, Sutherland, Focusinc, VXI SM, Offsourcing Philippines and Conectys. They will play the knockout quarterfinals before proceeding to the crossover semifinals.

DIBL commenced started April 30, attracting 14 out of 30 business process outsourcing (BPO) companies.

"It started with 10 teams and grew bigger this year. Some BPO companies recently expressed their interest in joining the next edition of DIBL" de Guzman said.

The event was formed to provide an avenue for the BPO community to have fun through sports and develop camaraderie among BPO companies and employees.

De Guzman also eyes to hold a volleyball competition exclusive for BPO companies.
