THE Department of Health (DOH) has set a goal to deworm 933,651 school children during the observance of the National School Deworming Month here in the region.
Dr. Sitti Nurussamsi Amilassan, DOH regional school deworning program manager, said the deworming of the school children is ongoing as January has been declared as the National School Deworming Month.
Amilassan said they are closely monitoring the proper implementation of the program to ensure good outcome.
She said the children should eat their breakfast before they will take the Albendazole chewable deworming tablet to prevent adverse reaction.
Of the 933,651 school children to be dewormed, 700,791 in the region are enrolled in the elementary level and the remaining 232,860 in high school level.
She urged the parents to allow their children to be dewormed since it is for their own good.
