THE Department of Health (DOH)-Central Luzon, in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) regional office, launched Wednesday an information campaign on dengue and Dengvaxia vaccine in San Isidro Integrated School in the City of San Fernando.
DOH Regional Director Leonita Gorgolon and Mayor Edwin Santiago led the posting of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials related to dengue in all classrooms of the said school which was covered by the vaccination program.
They also distributed to parents copies of the letter released by the DOH Secretary Francisco Duque. This contains updates on the controversial vaccine and tips on dengue prevention.
DOH-Central Luzon targets to visit all affected schools in the entire region this week, wherein a total of 205,058 students were vaccinated of at least one dose of Dengvaxia.
Also present during the activity were DepEd-Central Luzon Chief Education Supervisor Sammy Sampang and medical officer Gladys Lourdes Bengco, City Health Office staff headed by Dr. Eloisa Aquino, barangay officials, and San Isidro Integrated School faculty headed by OIC school head Mary Jane Mallari.
