THE Department of Justice (DOJ) considers issuing an Immigration Look-out Bulletin Order (ILBO) against Senator Leila de Lima's former driver and alleged lover Ronnie Dayan after his failure to attend the congressional hearing on Bilibid drug trade last Thursday.
In a chance interview at the Senate before the budget hearing Friday, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said the DOJ mulls placing Dayan in the look out list of the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
This was after Dayan, who is still nowhere to be found, failed to attend the third round of the House hearing on drug proliferation in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) amid a subpoena issued versus him.
According to Aguirre, Dayan still has 24 hours to explain before the Congress why he must not be cited in contempt for refusing to comply with the order of the legislative body.
The look out order, according to Aguirre, will possibly be issued to make sure that Dayan will remain in the country while the investigation against de Lima and the other officials involved in illegal drug trade is on going.
Dayan was accused of collecting funds from the gang leaders in Bilibid for the then-Justice secretary's senatorial bid. (Sunnex)
