THE Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday started revisiting the cases in relation to the alleged anomalous use of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) and the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) during the term of former President Benigno Aquino III.
In line with this, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II constituted a PDAF task force that would look into the probe conducted by the Aquino administration in the misuse of congressmen's pork barrel.
Justice Undersecretary Antonio Kho Jr. is in charge in the reinvestigation according to the DOJ order dated June 27.
"Undersecretary Antonio Kho Jr. is hereby designated as the justice undersecretary in charge of the PDAF/DAP scam task force, who shall have overall supervision and oversight over all stages of the investigation and any other proceedings that may result therefrom," the order read.
The order also directed Kho to monitor cases to be filed before the Office of the Ombudsman and the pending cases before the Sandiganbayan.
Also included in the PDAF task are National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) investigators and prosecutors from the DOJ.
Aguirre earlier said the DOJ will also investigate the new evidence submitted by alleged PDAF scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles.
Aguirre said Napoles executed a new affidavit tagging Senators Franklin Drilon, Antonio Trillanes IV, and Leila de Lima and two executive officials in the Aquino administration in the corruption scheme. (VoxPop Philippines)
