A SUSPECTED member of a drug syndicate was killed while two others managed to escape in a shootout during a drug bust in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Killed in a shootout was Lincon Limpsasan, an alleged member of a drug syndicate based in Talusan, according to Zamboanga Sibugay Police Director Romulo Cleve Taboso.
Taboso said the shootout occurred during a drug bust around 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, in Barangay Bualan, Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Limpasan pulled a handgun and opened fire but missed his target after he discovered the person, who transacted with him, is an undercover policeman.
Two unidentified companions of Limpasan managed to escape.
The attending physician at Oluntanga Hospital declared Limpasan dead on arrival.
The arresting team recovered from Limpasan’s possession a caliber. 38 revolver with ammunition, a fragmentation grenade, P600 cash including P200 marked money consisting of P100 bills, 12 small-sized heat-sealed plastic sachets containing methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, 13 big big-sized plastic sachet of shabu, and prohibited drug paraphernalia.
Taboso said the slain suspect is listed as among the high value target drug personality in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
