Drugs, firearms, ammunition seized in NegOcc

TWELVE persons were arrested for possession of illegal drugs, and firearms and ammunition in separate operations in Negros Occidental.

In Bacolod City, Raymond Tan and his three companions were collared in a drug-bust on Friday, October 7, after Tan sold an estimated two grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to an agent of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Island Region(NIR).

PDEA-NIR Director Julius Navales said Tan is under the agency's drugs watch list.

The agent was supposed to buy 20 grams of shabu from Tan, but the suspect sold only two grams.

Tan also yielded a grenade and a private vehicle used for his drug transactions.

The four suspects were placed in the custodial facility of Police Station 2 for the filing of charges against them.

Still in Bacolod, Marlo Hortilloza was arrested at Bangga Subay, Barangay Mandalagan on Thursday, October 6, that led to the recovery of five sachets of shabu.

Also arrested on October 2, was Joem Villacojer after he was reported for alarm and scandal outside a bar in Barangay Mandalagan.

Senior Inspector Larry Teovisio, head of Police Station 3, said Villacojer yielded nine sachets of shabu when frisked by police.

Villacojer and his partner, both reported drug runners, were abducted by suspected drug pusher Ricky Sereño and his female companion in August.

Meanwhile, in San Carlos City, three men were arrested in a drug-bust at Barangay 3 on Thursday, October 6.

Police identified the target subject as Hazanor Macadatu, 21. His two companions were Ronnie Arile and Edrom Valencia.

Police recovered from Macadatu 10 sachets of shabu, steel presser, drug paraphernalia, a .357 caliber revolver and five live ammunition, P910 cash and the P1,000 marked money while Valencia yielded a sachet of shabu, an improvised tooter, a .22 magnum revolver and four live ammunition.

The recovered illegal drugs weighed 1.2 grams with an estimated value of P12,000.

In Sagay City, Analyn Almaquer, 43, was arrested when police raided her house at Barangay Poblacion 1 on Thursday.

Police seized from Almaquer four sachets of shabu, a cellular phone, and the P300 marked money.

In Cadiz City, a beautician was arrested after he sold shabu to a police agent for P300 at Barangay Zone 6.

Eduard Barry Acuriza, 29, yielded seven additional sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, and the P300 marked money.

In Binalbagan town, Christine Pedregosa, 21, was arrested after her grandmother called for police assistance for alarm and scandal.

Pedregosa acted violently inside their house at Barangay Progreso that prompted her grandmother to call for help.

When police arrived, Pedregosa was caught in the act holding an improvised tooter and a canister.
