THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Northern Mindanao reported that the number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) is roughly 63,000 or 13,036 families.
As of Sunday, June 4, the DSWD-Northern Mindanao Disaster Operation Center in Iligan City recorded 1,567 families or 7,190 individuals are staying in the evacuation centers while 11, 469 or close to 55,700 persons are said to be home-based IDPs.
Iligan City housed some 767 families in four evacuation centers while the towns of Balo-i and Pantar in Lanao del Norte both have three evacuation centers with 429 and 371 families, respectively.

The social welfare office said Cagayan de Oro has 824 families based on the validated home-based IDPs while some towns in Misamis Oriental have recorded eight families in Kinoguitan; Alubijid, 23; and Opol, 485.
Meanwhile, nearly P12 million worth of assistance has been shelled out by the DSWD, where P2,453,404 goes to non-food items while P9,308,644 were spent for family food packs.
The DSWD has distributed family food packs to the towns of Balo-i with 2,861 packs; Pantar, 1,700; Pantao Ragat, 1,933; and Matungao, 815.
The Iligan City Government extended some P1 million cash assistance while Lanao del Norte Provincial Government shared P852,442 and some non-government agencies extended P15,000.
Relief operations in Iligan City are being conducted to evacuation centers and to home-based IDPs every after validation.
