THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Bacolod City is awaiting the decision of its central office on the delisting of at least 100 beneficiaries in the city.
Sharon Quiachon, DSSD City Link-Project Development 2, said from 2009 to March 2018, the DSWD has a total of 11,241 household beneficiaries in 59 villages of Bacolod.
She said only barangays 37 and 24 are not covered by this project because these are commercial areas.
The DSSD deployed about 24 personnel to monitor the 4Ps beneficiaries.
“Every month we are monitoring them and as of March this year, about 100 beneficiaries are subject to delisting for violating the rules. We are only waiting for the final decision,” Quiachon said.
She said most of the violators were monitored pawning their cards, which is illegal.
“They were given first to third warnings, but they ignored it so their names were submitted to DSWD central office to delist them as beneficiaries,” she added.
The DSWD is also monitoring those involved in illegal gambling.
Quiachon noted the qualified 4Ps beneficiaries are those pregnant with children 0 to 18-years old. They are receiving a monthly cash assistance of P300 to P500, health assistance and rice assistance.
