CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is warning the public against a new wave of scams being done through text messages.
The trade department denies sending text messages relating to any commercial promotion, particularly relative to SIM numbers winning prizes from Global Remittance of OFW/BSP.
Such messages advise the public to call a number claiming to be that of DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez. But DTI said such messages are part of a scam.
The agency advised the recipients of such messages to ignore it, block the number, and file a complaint with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) through its website and to alert them about such scam.
