PRESIDENTIAL Adviser on Peace Process Jesus Dureza on Friday, December 9, took to Facebook his "good and warm" conversation with Filipino-American community leader Loida Lewis in New York City.
Dureza, on his Facebook page, posted a photo of him with Lewis, who earlier called for President Rodrigo Duterte's resignation.
Dureza, Duterte's ally, said he had been able to have a "lively, animated" exchange of views with Lewis regarding the President.
"Had a good, warm chat here at Philippine Consulate General in New York City with Ms. Loida Lewis, the famous Filipina in US where we had a lively animated exchange on President Duterte," Dureza said.
Lewis is urging Duterte to resign for allegedly failing to end the drug menace in the country in his six-month imposed deadline.
But Malacañang was confident that Duterte is "very secure" since he is doing his job well to serve all the Filipino people.
Dureza said that it appeared that he and Lewis had come to terms with the way the President handles the situation in the country.
"Ultimately, it is the best interest of the country that is moving all of us in our individual advocacies. It seems we have arrived at a middle ground after we listened to each other," he said. (Sunnex)
