CLARK FREEPORT -- “If somebody would ask me for an investment location, I would say go to Clark.”
President Rodrigo Duterte said this as he cited Clark Freeport Zone as the next most-developed economic hub in the country during his speech at the Kapampangan Food Festival held at the Asean Convention Center here on Thursday.
Duterte said that Pampanga is very lucky to have Clark Freeport in its jurisdiction, citing its amenities and its flat lands which can easily attract local and international investors.
“Ang swerte ninyo na binigay sa inyo ang Clark for you to manage and make use of,” he said, adding that Pampanga has greatly developed from its once “alien-like” landscape with the existence of American troops and naval bases.
He now described Clark as one of the very important destinations in the Philippines which is very ideal for investors especially that the Clark International Airport is being prepared for a major development following its successful reception of world leaders during the recently concluded Association of South East Asian Nations summit.
“Ang kulang na lang natin is the infrastructure for mobility. But in due time, I think, in the fullness of God’s time, we will have it. I hope it would come, even half of what they have offered so far, kasi kalahati lang sana,” he added.
rDuterte also said the Philippines remains as an investment destination and the government was working to build infrastructure to “encourage travelers to come here so they can have more fun and exciting experience in the country.”
“I ask each of you to join me in spurring economic growth and fostering unity and solidarity here in Pampanga and the rest of Central Luzon. Let us show to the world what the Philippines has to offer: World-class hospitality, and sumptuous and unique heritage,” Duterte said.
