Electric firm worker killed in Zamboanga

A POLICEMAN was placed under investigation after he was implicated in the killing on Tuesday, June 13, of an employee of the local electric firm, the police said.

Senior Inspector Albert Alfaro, Police Station 11 investigation division chief, said the policeman is now in their custody as probe over the incident continue.

Alfaro did not released the identity of the policeman except in saying “he is a person of interest” and assigned with the Aviation Security Group.

The policeman was turned over by no less than the chief of the local Aviation Security Group after his name was implicated in the killing of Abdulkadir Ladja Misang, 29.

Initial investigation showed that Misang was driving his motorcycle when shot by a motorcycle-riding gunman, who tailed the victim.

The incident occurred around 4:18 p.m. in front of a motel in the village of Canelar, Zamboanga City.

Misang was rushed to the hospital, but he expired hours later while undergoing medical treatment.

He was an employee of the Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative. (VoxPop Philippines)
