Emilio Ramos NHS bags 2 titles

THE Emilio Ramos National High School (ERNHS) annexed two titles in the 80th Araw ng Dabaw Get Into Rugby Festival that closed at the Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Matina Campus over the weekend.

The ERNHS boy’s squad blanked Sirawan National High School (SNHS), 3-0, to secure the secondary boys title in the event organized by the Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU) in partnership with the Sports Development Division-City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO).

The ERNHS girls team, meanwhile, bagged the secondary girls crown after scoring a 2-1 victory over SNHS.

In other matches, host Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) edged Royal Valley Alumni, 2-1, to clinch the seniors touch title while the Cagayan de Oro Rugby Football Club crushed the Davao Durians Development Team, 20-5, in men's rugby 7s title.

The other champions were Sirawan Beach Elementary School (elementary boys), V.L. Anglionto Sr. Elementary School Alpha (elementary boy’s plate), Don Juan Dela Cruz Central Elementary School (elementary boys bowl) and Piedad Central Elementary School Bravo (elementary girl’s plate).

All winners received trophies and medals courtesy of SDD-CMO.

Special awards were also given to the most valuable players Anthony Ronquillo (secondary boys), Angela Jessa Hifume (secondary girls), Mcky Eiman Peli (elementary boys), Cherlyn Gascon (elementary girls), Elven Flores (seniors touch) and Benton Korne (men's rugby 7s).

The event was also backed by Potbellied Pigs Rugby Football Club Hong Kong, Department of Education Davao City Division, Addu and Davao Durians Rugby Football Club.
