Erich Gonzales, Daniel Matsunaga 'reunite' amid split controversy

FORMER couple Daniel Matsunaga and Erich Gonzales have reunited as if nothing had happen.

The two Kapamilya stars were spotted late Thursday evening at the Terminal 2 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport minutes before their flight bound for San Francisco.

The two left Manila for a two-night show at the Cache Creek Resort and Casino in Brooks, California.

Staff of Star Magic, the talent arm of ABS-CBN, who accompanied the ex-couple posted several photos online. Gonzales and Matsunaga seemed okay with each other after the word war thrown at both camps.

Star Magic also released an official statement disclosing that the two were able to talk on Wednesday, February 15, before flying to the US.

The talent management group further clarified that there's no third party involved in Matsunaga and Gonzales' break-up and that money was not an issue between them.

"Naging maayos ang usapan nilang dalawa. Walang kinalaman ang pera o third party sa kanilang hiwalayan," the statement reads.

The ex-couple are also requesting the public to spare their respective families from the backlash of their split.

Third party and money issue surfaced as reasons of the demise of their relationship even before Gonzales confirmed their break-up.

Her interview pushed Matsunaga's sister Vanessa to come out in defense of her brother.

Vanessa left several messages on Gonzales' Instagram account saying the latter could have explained better. She also uploaded several posts explaining the lifestyle they had growing up in Brazil.

Gonzales fired back by issuing this statement to ABS-CBN reporter Marie Lozano: "Hindi ako mayaman, Vanessa. Tama ka, mahirap lang ako. Hindi ako kasing yaman ng napangasawa mo. Pero sa mundong ito, ang realidad, hindi lang mayayaman ang nate-take advantage. Mas maraming mahirap ang napapagsamantalahan."

The actress added that she will speak up if further provoked by Matsunaga's family. (VoxPop Philippines)
