AN INMATE who escaped from the Metro Bacolod District Jail-Special Intensive Care Area (MBDJ-Sica) in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, was recaptured at his residence in Purok Sunrise, Barangay Blumentritt in Murcia, Negros Occidental Tuesday night, June 20.
Jail Officer 2 Juniven Rey Umadhay, public information officer of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Negros Island Region (BJMP-NIR), said on Wednesday that Marlon Molina, 38, was sighted in the area two weeks ago.
He was arrested around 10:20 p.m. last night through the assistance of the intelligence operatives of Murcia Municipal Police Station, Umadhay said.
The P20,000 cash reward was given to the Murcia police personnel headed by Senior Inspector Ronald Santillan.
Molina was charged with carnapping and robbery. He was transferred to the Negros Occidental District Jail in Bago City.
Molina, along with Noli Dega, 39, and Ebson Jaen, 36, both residents of Bacolod City, escaped from the MBDJ-Sica last June 4.
Jaen was immmediately recaptured just outside the jail after he got injured during the escape while Dega was arrested last week at the house of his relative in Cadiz City, after 10 days of hiding.
The Cadiz City Police Station received a P10,000 cash reward for Dega’s arrest.
Jaen remained at the custody of MBDJ-Sica while Dega was transferred to the BJMP facility in Talisay City.
