CABINET Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr. has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Housing Urban Development and Coordinating Council (HUDCC).
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar told reporters that President Rodrigo Duterte decided that Evasco will replace former HUDCC chair, Vice President Leni Robredo.
"[Duterte] just appointed Cabinet Secretary Jun Evasco to head HUDCC. This is on top of Secretary Evasco's current job responsibilities," Andanar said.
Evasco's appointment came on the heels of Robredo'a resignation as housing czar, after she was stopped from attending Cabinet meetings.
The President accepted Robredo's resignation "with a heavy heart." (Sunnex)
