FORMER Ceres Negros FC midfielder Iain Ramsay will sign up with Malaysia Premier League second tier Felda United this week.
Felda United media officer Sam Festo said the Fil-Aussie Ramsay has arrived in Malaysia and started training with the team.
After Ramsay's release from Philippine-based club Ceres FC, it was reported that he was set to join Prachuap FC of the Thai league. He changed his mind.
According to Semuanya Bola, Ramsay's decision was influenced by some of his compatriots playing in the Malaysian League like Brendan Gan in Perak and Matthew Davies in Pahang.
"Even Dino Djulbic, who played for Felda last season, also shared the same things and encouraged me to join the club. Furthermore, playing with Ceres Negros side in the AFC Cup game against Felda last season also gave me the clear picture of the team's ability," he said.
Ceres Negros FC, meanwhile, after earlier inking Spanish goalkeeper Antonio "Toni" Doblas and defender Sean Patrick Kane, also signed defender Amani Aguinaldo and Japanese striker Takumi Uesato.
Aguinaldo, who is still nursing an injury, last played for Global Cebu FC in the Philippines Football League (PFL) with 42 appearances with 31 outings for the Azkals.
Meanwhile, Uesato last suited up for PFL's JPV Marikina, scoring 15 goals in 14 games.
On January 16, Ceres FC will challenge Myanmar's Shan United at the Thuwunna Stadium for the 2018 AFC Champions League qualifiers.
