Ex-lawmaker to file complaint vs Visayas deputy ombudsman

FORMER Negros Oriental representative Jacinto Paras and his lawyer, Manuelito Luna, are planning to file a complaint against Deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas Paul Elmer Clemente for alleged grave misconduct and gross neglect of duty.

In a press conference Tuesday, Paras and Luna said that Clemente refused to meet with them to discuss updates on the administrative cases filed against incumbent Negros Oriental Representative Jocelyn Limkaichong.

Paras said he might file the complaint against Clemente before the Office of the President next week.

Paras and Luna have filed complaints against various national officials, including ex-Commission on Elections chairman Andres Bautista, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales, and Overall Deputy Ombudsman Melchor Arthur Carandang.

While he admitted that he and Limkaichong were rivals, Paras denied that politics was behind his plan to file charges against Clemente. (JKV/VoxPop Cebu)
