HOW many times have you ordered food because of the delicious photo in the advertisement only to be served something far different from
what you expected?
Or maybe you’ve made something you saw on a DIY page, followed the directions perfectly, only to be disappointed with the final outcome that looks nothing like the pictures that inspired you in the first place.
Sometimes we create our own heartbreaks through expectation. I can still
remember when I was young, my parents owned a farm land and everything I wanted like dresses, toys and food, they can provide these to show their love and support to me.
I believed that my family was happy and my life was perfect. It was not.
As I grew, I saw the reality that sometimes we can feel and experience the ups and downs in our life. Even rich people are facing problems in life.
My parents wanted us to escape from the reality. Even problems at home like financial, they still find ways to support our studies and needs.
That is how my parents wanted us to feel but now that I am more
mature, I don’t want to expect too much that life is easy. Because I know my parents worked hard for these.
I would like to thank my parents for being there always especially when I needed them. My parents wanted to protect us from the reality. But as I open my eyes I see the reality that we are facing problems.
These problems want to test us how we still care with each other that no matter what happens we are still a family. In this world, I don’t want a perfect life, I want real. We should learn to accept instead of expect because if we expect nothing, we are never disappointed.
