CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- A fake bomb threat alarmed the officials and students of San Fernando Elementary School on Tuesday afternoon, August 22.
The bomb scare was reportedly sent to School Principal Shirley Zipagan through text message which said that a bomb will explode in the next few hours.
This prompted the school officials to immediately evacuate the students and seek the assistance of the local police, firemen and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDDRMC).
Local police led by Superintendent Roland Agohob immediately inspected the vicinity but was negative of any explosives.
School officials suspended the classes for the safety of students, teachers and staff.
CDRRM Officer Raymond Del Rosario urged the public to be mindful of the information they received, whether it is dubious or not.
He stressed that readiness and being alert must be observed at any circumstances.
“Hindi dahil puro bomb threat, magiging kampante na tayo. Hindi natin alam kung kailan totoo na pala kaya dapat always ready,” he said.
