A 43-YEAR-OLD man who pretended to be a police officer and his cohort were arrested on Tuesday, March 20, in Dumanjug town, Cebu.
Police identified the suspect as Robilito Gimarino Misal. His alleged cohort is Francis Niño Ationg Dayondon, 21.
The suspects were identified as the ones who burglarized a copying center owned by Joel Pili, after they were captured in the establishment's closed-circuit television camera footage.
A fake Philippine National Police identification card was seized from
Misal, who allegedly claimed he was assigned at Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Central Visayas.
Dumanjug Gilfred Baroman said they have verified that Misal is not a bona fide member of the police force.
The suspects will be charged for theft. For Misal, he will face a separate complaint of usurpation of authority. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
