(UPDATED) A SUSPECTED pusher, who pretended to be a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent, was killed in a drug bust by PDEA-Central Visayas operatives at the back of a hotel in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City, on Wednesday night, August 16.
The target was identified as Ronald Capistrano Aznar, who had been included in the drug watchlist of PDEA-Central Visayas.
Aznar allegedly grabbed an agent's firearm, forcing another agent to shoot at him.
Before it happened, Aznar was caught at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, yielding some 20 grams of white crystals believed to methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu at MJ Cuenco Avenue.
PDEA-Central Visayas information officer Leia Albiar said Aznar offered to lead the agents to his source, whom he said was living in Mabolo.
After they disembarked from PDEA's vehicle, Aznar tried to get one of the agent's firearm and pushed him, forcing another agent to open fire at the suspect.
Mabolo officials have received reports from residents, who saw Aznar frequenting the area with his firearm visible.
Some residents said he also introduced himself as a PDEA agent. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
