AS KAPUSO fantasy series "Encantadia" is nearing its finale, loyal supporters of the primetime program are asking for more.
A petition has been made on Change.org, which aims to gather 5,000 signatures before May 12, to urge the GMA Network to continue the story of the hit television series.
According to Melissa Yutuc, the one who started the campaign, there are still a lot of stories to share from the characters of the program.
She said aside from the entertainment value of "Encantadia," it also inspires its fans to be creative and teach viewers about love and social justice.
"There is still a lot of room to tap on other lores and plot in 'Encantadia.' Maraming fans ang na-inspire gumawa ng fan-arts, fan fictions, at fan theories dahil sa show na ito and that already shows the big impact 'Encantadia' had and still has on its fans," she said.
Yutuc also pointed out that the show is getting good ratings and it sets a good standard of television programming in the Philippines.
"Encantadia is beyond surveys, it provoked the imagination of every Filipino, including foreigners. It set an immensely higher standard in our entertainment industry that is 20 years behind the whole world," Yutuc said.
Janno Manducduc, a fan from Bacoor, Cavite, said that they've waited 11 years for the new "Encantadia" and it's not enough that the show will end soon.
Jhesson Dela Cruz from Laguna also said that there are still many aspects of the series that needs to be presented to the viewers.
"Encantadia," which aired on July 2016, is a reboot of the network's 2005 series of the same title.
The show is top billed by Rocco Nacino, Ruru Madrid, Solenn Heussaff, Sanya Lopez, Gabbi Garcia, Glaiza de Castro and Kylie Padilla, who later on left the series due to her pregnancy.
As of this posting, the petition is 50 signatures short of reaching its 5000 target. (VoxPop Philippines)
