A FEMALE drug supplier was arrested on Wednesday, May 10 in Lapasan village, Cagayan de Oro City.
Saphia Ampuan, 47, of sitio Agora, Lapasan village allegedly yielded P30,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu,” when the police accosted her.
Senior Inspector Maricris Mulat, Police Station 1 chief, said Ampuan had been monitored as the “down line” of Nobaisa Tanggo, a high value target who was arrested last March in Villa Candida, Bulua, this city. Tanggo reportedly had some P1.5 million worth of prohibited drugs in her possession when she was nabbed.
Mulat said Ampuan belongs to the group of other drug suspects recently arrested by the Police Station 1 operatives.
He added these sub-groups of Tanggo continued the illegal drug trade even after the latter’s arrest.
Further investigation also showed that several drug transactions had been uncovered through the text messages from Ampuan's cellphone.
Mulat said significant information found in the suspect's cellphone may lead to the arrest of more drug personalities operating in the city.
