CLOSE to P1 million worth of properties were damaged when a bungalow was burned down in Purok 5, Pinsao Pilot Project Thursday noon.
In an initial report by the Baguio City Fire Department, the fire occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. inside the house owned by Junior Tampak.
Tampak told probers he earlier saw his four-year-old grandson handling a lighted candle prior to the fire, but the authorities have yet to release its initial findings.
The fire also partially damaged his neighbor’s house owned by Rosito Ramon.
Fire fighters had a hard time desponding to the incident navigating narrow and ongoing road construction in the area.
The fire was declared under control at around 12:42 pm by Fire Officer 3 Alvin Marconi, where there were no any casualties or injuries recorded.
A woman and two children also escaped the fire located some 200 meters away from the national road.
Aside from the fire department, water deliveries, members of Rescue 911, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and other civic groups were on hand to assist in putting out the fire.
