A FIRE destroyed 12 houses and damaged three others around 9 a.m. Saturday, November 4. at Cottage Road Bukid, Purok Kahirup B in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Fire Officer 3 Cornelio Silva, chief arson investigator of Bureau of Fire Protection-Bacolod, said the fire broke out from the second floor ceiling of the house owned by Rodney Javello.
The BFP pointed to defective electrical wiring as the cause of fire which destroyed an estimated P300,000 worth of properties.
Silva said nobody was inside the house of Ravello during the fire.
The fire was put out after 30 minutes.
Affected households were temporarily sheltered at the village's gymnasium.
City officials led by Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran visited the site and extended assistance to the fire victims.
The City Government through the Department of Social Services and Development will also provide financial aid to the affected individuals.
