A FIRE gutted a store and a bakeshop at Mina, Barangay San Jose, Sipalay City in Negros Occidental Saturday night, February 17, destroying an estimated P3-million worth of properties.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Sipalay received a call for assistance 11 minutes after the fire broke out at 6:04 p.m. at Roleth's Store Refreshments and Bakeshop owned by Nepomuceno Bulao.
Investigation showed the fire started at the second floor of the mercantile building allegedly due to faulty electrical wiring.
The fire was declared under control around 7 p.m. and was put out around 8:20 p.m.
In Talisay City, three houses were destroyed by fire around 9 a.m. in Purok Malinong, Barangay Bubog, on Saturday, leaving an estimated P375,000 worth of damage.
Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of fire.
