AFTER being sidelined for the rest of 2017, former One Championship world featherweight champion Honorio Banario is raring to get back to training.
Banario suffered a collar bone injury earlier this year will be returning to training this January as he hopes to compete anew in Asia's largest MMA promotions.
"I’m hoping to fully recover from my injury. Hopefully by January, I can train again," said the soft spoken Banario.
The 28-year-old Banario is enjoying a four fight winning streak which dates back to April 2016 after his heart breaking five losing streak.
His latest conquest was against Jaroslav Jartim when they squared off in April this year at the Mall of Asia Arena whom he knocked out cold in the second round.
Prior to his victory against Jartim, Banario also scored huge wins against Vaughn Donayre, Eddie Ng and Rajinder Singh Meena.
His conquest of Jartim was named by ONE among the five knockouts to remember.
During the Kings of Destinay event, Banario showcased another epic performance, Jartim with a single left hook.
Countering a body kick with a punching combination, Honorio unleashed a left hook that landed square on Jartim’s jaw, turning the lights out immediately for his Czech opponent.
It was Banario’s first real knockout victory since he stopped compatriot Andrew Benibe at ONE: Pride of a Nation in August 2012.
