Freeze order on Sabalones's assets a good news

Published on

CEBU Provincial Police Office (CPPO) Director Eric Noble welcomed the Court of Appeals' decision to freeze the assets of drug lord Franz Sabalones, saying the move can affect the latter's underlings who are still engaged in trading shabu.

"Yung mga tao niya ay ma-rattle na sila. Yung mga pera nila hindi na nila alam kung saan ilagay," he said.

Noble said he received reports that Sabalones's men are still active in Talisay City, Carcar City, and San Fernando.

Noble said he was told that the underlings celebrated the suspension of anti-illegal drug operations last month by lighting up firecrackers.

"Binalik na ngayon (drug operations). Sorry, we're back," said Noble.

He added that they cannot make a move against the assets of police officers who have connections with Sabalones.

The CPPO, he said, will wait for the action of the Anti-Money Laundering Council. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
