BUSINESS had been good so far this year for Paul Go, owner of GH Office Depot at Monteverde St., Davao City. Already 52 years in the business, Go is very glad their business is going strong amidst the arrival of other competitors who provide the same merchandise as they offer.
It is by God’s grace, he said they were able to last more than 50 decades in the business. He is also very thankful for all the support they had been receiving from ever-loyal clients and customers who keep coming back for their supplies and services. He even shared with VoxPop that a few years ago, Davao City Mayor "Inday" Sara Duterte-Carpio would even personally go to his store to buy things she would need in her office.
Go feels blessed to have good employees who politely attend to the needs of the customers. He said for this year alone GH Office Depot hired and regularized 20 to 30 employees.
With the consistent boom of the business is the local jobs availability that GH Office Depot provides. Go said this is a way of the company in bringing back to the people of Davao City: to provide more jobs to the locals.
He is happy with the way customers are well treated and served in the store. They are fulfilled and usually come back some other day.
“We feel happy because the customers feel that way,” Go said.
As a way of giving back, last summer until June, GH Office Depot provided school supplies to be given away to children by the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, and other public and private sectors.
As the year ends and as Christmas is fast approaching, Go prays for peaceful environment and more opportunities to serve the people.
“We are looking forward not only to the profit the business will make but to the chance to serve the people by God’s grace,” he said.
